Alkins impressive as Essequibo takes first day honours

In what can be considered a rare occurrence, Essequibo’s Under-19 cricketers totally outplayed their counterparts from Demerara on the first day of the Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Fire and Life Insurance Company sponsored tournament at the Everest Cricket Club ground yesterday.

After winning the toss and electing to take first strike the Essequibo team were dismissed for 159 in their first innings……
