Strong Linden invasion for Hugh Ross Classic

A strong Linden contingent led by Mr. Guyana 2007 Clint Duke will invade Georgetown on Sunday for the Hugh Ross Classic Bodybuilding and Fitness competition which will take place at the National Cultural Centre.

The stellar event is being organized by Andre Poonai Investments and Partners Limited.

Coach of the contingent Samuel Barker told Stabroek Sport in an invited comment yesterday that he was expecting creditable performances from his team in this competition, which is being held in honour of Guyana’ world-renowned bodybuilder Hugh Ross who will be guest posing at the event.

“They have been putting in some overtime work leading up to this competition. We will be closing off our gym work on Thursday, but at the moment we are concentrating on our posing routine.”

Duke, who trains at the Total Package Gym, will compete in the middleweight division.

He has had the special opportunity of representing Guyana at the 2005 Central American and Caribbean championships where he earned a bronze medal.

Apart from winning the Ms. Guyana Fitness in 2005, Pillew has enjoyed moderate success when in 2006 she was the first runner-up in the Ms Guyana Universe Fitness, Ms Guyana Body Fitness and Ms Body Flex competitions respectively.

Perry is being sponsored by Ragaman power drink and, like Pellew, will be representing the Upper Demerara Barbell Club. He will be having his first taste of competitive bodybuilding and will be competing in the heavyweight division.
