The Neal and Massy (N&M) Group of Companies re-established their partnership with the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday when they donated $1,800,000 towards the National First Division 40 overs competition.

Neal and Massy Group of Companies has sponsored this nationwide competition every year since  2004 and its Chief Executive Officer Deo Persaud said that his company will continue to support this competition.
“We have partnered with the GCB for the hosting of this competition for the past four years and we will continue to support this tournament because we are part of the cricket family here at Neal and Massy,” he said.
“We understand the role that sport plays in the development of social camaraderie, and management principles,” he added.

President of GCB Chetram Singh said that he was extremely grateful that the Neal and Massy Group of Companies was able to sponsor this tournament for the fifth straight year. Singh also said that that this tournament has emerged as one of the most significant tournaments at that level and  the GCB uses it to assist in the selection of players for regional tours. “This is a very important competition because it is a 40 over competition and the limited-over form of the game is becoming more and more popular in cricket.”

The Twenty/20 form is one of the most popular and exciting forms of the game and the 50 overs form is played all over the world,” he said.
“What we have done is to try to bridge the two styles of the game so that our players can become attacking players as well as learn the value of going on to build long innings.”…..
