The Kennard Memorial Turf Club will bed a buzz of activity when it runs off its annual pre-independence Race meet next Sunday with seven events carded for the day including the feature race for `C’ and Lower Class horses.

As is customary, Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) will sponsor events at this meet including the feature race.

This meet, the second of the year for the Club, is expected to attract some of the country’s top horses on a track that is likely to be in the pink of condition taking into consideration the good weather that has been prevailing lately, along with the re-surfacing it experienced recently when Club officials spent in excess of G$4m to upgrade its facility.

Entries for this meeting will close tomorrow and interested persons can contact the Club secretary Niketa Ross (662-4668 or 325-3230), Roopnarine Matadial (325-3192) and retired Chief Justice Cecil Kennard( 623-7609, 225-4818 or 226-1399) for further details.
