Neal and Massy Berbice zone commences today

The Berbice Zone of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Neal and Massy- sponsored 40 over cricket competition will commence today with five matches spread across the county.

Twelve first division teams will be participating in the competition that has been divided into two geographical zones with the two top teams in each zone opposing each other in the semi finals with the winners going on to contest the final to determine the Berbice Zone winner of the competition.

 In Zone A(West Berbice, New Amsterdam, Canje) West Berbice will battle with Blairmont Community Centre, Bermine, Police sports Club, Young Warriors and Rose hall Community Centre for top position. Berbice 2007 overall winner Albion Community Centre Cricket Club will be having a tough task on their hands when they face up with Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar, Port Mourant Cricket Club, Kildonan Cricket Club, Skeldon Community Centre and Scotsburg United Cricket Clubs respectively in their effort to retain their supremacy in the County in Zone B (Corentyne).

Four matches have been fixed for today from 1100hrs with Blairmont Community Centre playing host to Bermine and West Berbice taking on Police at Bush Lot, West Berbice in Zone a.

In Zone B, Skeldon Community Centre faces up to Scotsburg United at Skeldon whilst Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar takes on Kildonan at Area ‘H’.
There is one game scheduled for tomorrow and that will be the Scotsburg United/ Kildonan clash at Scotsburg in another Zone B fixture.
