Jason-Ray Khalil brushed aside Narayan Ramdhani in the boys’ Under-15 final while his sister, junior Sportswoman-of-the-Year, Ashley Khalil, won the girls’ U-17 title when the finals of the West Indies Sport Complex badminton tournament ended recently at the Queen’s College badminton courts.

Ramdhani, who had earlier claimed the boy’s U-13 title with a commanding 21-2, 21-8 victory over Andrew Peroune, was given a taste of his own medicine when he stepped up to the plate in the U-15 final where he experienced the superior agility and hard-hitting skills of Khalil losing 14-21, 9-21.

Victories seemed to be the order of the weekend in the Khalil family as Jason-Ray’s sister Ashley won the girls U-17 title with her 21-10, 21-14 win over Anissa Rodrigues in the final.
Other top players in the WISC tournament included Tashana Lowe who beat Priyanna Ramdhani in the girls’ U-13 singles final and Avian Rodrigues, who defeated his arch-rival and schoolmate Nicholas Ali in the boys’ U-17 final.
