Weather permitting, this weekend golfers will tee off in the Demerara Mutual Fire and Life Insurance Company-sponsored Medal Play tournament at the Lusignan golf course.

The tournament will be played Saturday starting at 12:30 hours.
Another large turnout is anticipated for the tournament with the organizers expecting close to 30 golfers to participate.

Last week’s winner of the GT&T sponsored tourney,  Melissa Humphrey, is expected to be in action as well as Maurice Solomon, Imran Khan, Patrick Prashad, Ian Gouveia, Colin Ming, Brian Hackett, Brian Glasford, Alfred Mentore, Dr. Ram Singh, Gavin Todd, Mel Sankies, Carlos Adams, Ronald Bulkhan and Mike Guyadin.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers while there will be a special prize for the Nearest to the Pin.

Registration will close on Friday at 16:00 hours and interested players can register by calling the bar at telephone number 220-5660.

Assembly time is 12:20 for Tee off at 12:30 hours.

Officials of Demerara Mutual are expected to be on hand to assist in the presentation of prizes at the end of the tournament.
