BFA/Coca Cola football set to resume Sunday

After a brief hold-up due to the poor state of grounds as a result of the inclement weather the Berbice Football Association (BFA)/ Coca Cola tournament is set to resume Sunday with three matches.

At the Rosignol Community Development Centre ground, Rosignol United will oppose Corentyne Football Club while there will be a double header at the Mahaicony Community Development Centre ground with Rainbow generation opposing Real Union and Mahaicony United taking on Paradise Invaders.

The BFA’s under-15 club competition is also set to continue with the fourth round of a scheduled seven round tournament on July 19 when the eight participating teams will engage each other at the Scott’s School ground.

The eight teams are Corriverton Links, N/A United, Hearts of Oak Juniors, Barzilla, Rosignol United, Monedderlust, Real Union and Paradise Invaders.

In recent matches Rosignol United lost to N/A United 0-3.

Goal-scorers for N/A United were Cleroy Joseph, Sherwin Halley and Graham Thomas.

Hears of Oak Juniors lost 0-1 to N/A United with Halley again scoring for the winners with a 45th minute strike.

Meanwhile Corriverton Links competing for the first time chalked up victories against Paradise Invaders 1-0 and Real Union 5-0.
Albert Anderson who scored the lone goal in the win against paradise Invaders returned to score a helmet-trick against Real Union with Tyrone Peneux scoring the other goal.
