-as Country Side triumphs by 167 runs
Former national under-19 opener Krishna Deosarran blasted his way to an entertaining 125 to lead  a Country Side XI to a comfortable 167-run victory over  Silver Belt XI in the Banks DIH-sponsored Guyana Softball League 15-overs-a-side competition last Sunday at the Providence ground.

Deosarran, who recently returned from a stint in Trindad and Tobago, struck 15 sixes and four fours and, together with Rushie Samaroo who made 64, (6×6, 5×4),  guided Country Side, who batted first, to 223-5.

In reply, Silver Belt could only muster 64 -4 in 15 overs, Roy Jeewan was the only batsman to get into double figures with 13(2×4) as Richard Gomes claimed 2-5 for Country Side.

In their second game, Country Side gained a walkover from La Grange All Youths whilst Michael XI received a walkover from Stewartville XI.  At the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) ground, the Untouchables XI burnt Dare Devils XI by 10 wickets. They lost the toss but dismissed Dare Devils for a measly 41 in seven overs. Shawn Ahmad tore through Dare Devils batting line up with 6-6. In reply, Untouchables XI surpassed the target in six overs with Dexter Fraser finishing with an unbeaten 26.

Dare Devils were the victors after receiving a walkover from Destroyers XI in their second match while Better Hope got a walkover from Top Notch XI.

Meanwhile, today at the NIS ground Regal XI will clash with Untouchables XI and Ariel XI in two matches commencing from 10:30hrs.
