D’Anrade and Johnson podium in 5k in T&T

Local middle distance runners Lionel D’ Andrade and Kelvin Johnson placed second and third respectively at a 5km road race last Sunday in Trinidad and Tobago.

According to D’Andrade, the race was won by Pamenos Ballentyne in 14:53s, while he (D’Andrade) came in three seconds later in second  place (14:56s) followed by Johnson in 14:59s.
D’Andrade also told Stabroek Sport that he had won stage three of the Kiss Company 5k event two Sundays ago.

D’Andrade is currently residing and training in Trinidad. He told Stabroek Sport that he plans to return to Guyana in October to participate in the South American 10k trials.
