Rose Hall and Albion play to exciting draw

Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB) and Albion Community Centre Sports Club played to an exciting draw to share the trophy when they clashed at the Area ‘H’ ground at Rose Hall yesterday. The match was organized by Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB) as a fundraiser in aid of the Changing Your Life Ministries Church of Williamsburg.
Asked to take first strike after losing the toss, Albion rattled up 132-7 in their allotted 20 overs with national Under-19 player Jonathan Foo scoring 40 with three massive sixes and two fours and national right arm leg spinner Davendra Bishu offering support with 36.
West Indies player Narsingh Deonarine was run out for 10, while Ranga Lachigadu scored 20 against the bowling of Ravi Narine who took 2-16 and Eon Hooper 2-10.
In reply RHTWSB lost skipper Renwick Batson bowled by off-spinner Lachigadu for four with the score on eight in the first over. Former national Stanford 20/20 star Andre Percival (65) joined forces with senior Berbice wicket keeper/batsman Delbert Hicks  (52) and they posted 110 runs for the second wicket in 17.4 overs.
Percival rolled back the years with a brilliant 65 made off 72 deliveries with three sixes and six fours before he was  bowled by  Bishu with the score reading 118-2 in the 19th over.
Needing to score 13 to win off the last over, Hicks and former Guyana Under-19 player Khemraj Mahadeo managed to score 12 of the runs as the match ended in a tie. Hicks was undefeated for his attractive 52 while Mahadeo was on 10 (1×6), as RHTWSB ended on 132-2 at the end of their 20 overs. Bowling for Albion, Lachigadu took 1-17 and Bishu 1-20.
At the presentation ceremony Pastor Kelvin Perreira thanked both teams for the support given to the church’s project while providing the fans with a high level of cricket. He then presented  the attractive winning trophy to captains Batson and Bishu of RHTWSB and Albion respectively.
