Newly-crowned junior road race champion, 15-year-old Neil Reece, continues to dominate in cycling in Berbice, winning the Carifesta Secretariat/Flying Ace Cycle Club-organized 30-mile event on Friday.

The cyclists pedaled off from Main and Chapel streets in New Amsterdam and proceeded to the second toll station before turning for the downward journey and finishing at Albion.  Reece completed the distance in a time of 50 minutes and 27 seconds and was three miles ahead of the runner-up, newly-crowned veterans road champion, Gary Benjamin.

Sherwin Giddings, Wazim Hasmoo, Michael Moore and Rohan Persaud  were in the top six consecutively behind Reece and Benjamin.

Meanwhile, Afraz Ali and  Shane Jaundoo were the first and second runners-up respectively behind Reece in  the junior category also.

Victor Henry won the under-15 category from Linsay Rigby and Afyal Ali. Reece also won all 10 sprint prizes that were up for grabs during the course along with the $26,000 first prize award.
