Ninth De Sinco Milkant cycle race pedals off today

It’s around the inner circuit of the National Park again for local cyclists today who will pedal off in keen rivalry for the 9th annual De Sinco Trading Limited Milkant sponsored cycling programme from 09:00hrs.

Eleven races are carded for the day’s programme, including the feature 35-laps event for Schoolboys and Novices along with the Veterans under and over-50 age group respectively. The programme is being sponsored by De Sinco Trading Limited of Sheriff Street, whose representatives will be on hand to assist with the distribution of prizes.

The event  is being organized by national cycling coach Hassan Mohammed.
Darren Allen will be hard pressed to retain his title in the feature event, as cyclists of the calibre of Alonzo Greaves who has been having a magnificent year also,  Danny Ramchurgee, Geron Williams, Christopher Persaud, Christopher Holder and Jaikarran Sukhai, just to name a few, will be some of his competitors.

Holder who is the Juvenile category  10-laps defending champion, having won the 2007 race in a time of 24m:46secs last year, should be expecting a stern test this time from Ramchurgee, Williams and even newly-crowned junior road race champion, 14-year-old Berbician Neil Reece.
Each participant will be issued with one box of Milkant.
