An 82-run unbeaten partnership between Man-of-the-Match Satesh Harrinandan and Mervyn Belle enabled the Banks DIH cricket team to score a convincing nine-wicket win over Republic Bank Ltd. (RBL)  in their feature 20-overs-a-side tapeball cricket match Friday evening at Thirst Park ground under floodlights.

Harrinandan slammed an even unbeaten half century while Belle was not-out on 49 as Banks DIH, replying to 124 made by RBL, hit off the required runs for the loss of one wicket with six overs to spare.

RBL, who were sent in to bat after losing the toss, were restricted to 124 for 9 off their allotted 20 overs despite vociferous support from their supporters which included Managing Director, Edwin Gooding and Company Secretary, John Alves.

Colin Belle was the top scorer for the bankers with a stylish unbeaten 25.

He received valuable support from Lyndon McPherson who made 19 and Dayiann Denny 17.

Yugesh Kissoon was the pick of Banks DIH bowlers claiming 3 for 23 while Glenford Stephens bagged 2 for 18.

The home side started their reply positively and after losing their first wicket, Harrinandan, who struck several boundaries and the pugnacious Belle, raced to the total with confidence boosted by a large turnout of colleagues including Company Secretary Terry Bynoe and executives Carlton Joao and Gavin Todd.

The winners and Man-of-the-Match trophies were donated by Trophy Stall in Bourda Market.

Harrinandan received his award from Alves while Collis Willie; Banks DIH Sports Club Manager, presented the winning trophy to Otis George captain of Banks team.

Banks DIH communications manager Troy Peters, who met the two teams before the start of match, disclosed that the game was organised in an effort to foster closer ties between the staff of local business entities.

The Banks DIH team will square off with local furniture giants Courts in another feature 20-over match next Friday at Thirst Park.
