The Guyana Taekwondo Association (GTA) has selected two athletes to represent Guyana at the 16th Pan American Taekwondo Championships to be held in Caguas, Puerto Rico from October 1 – 6.

Adrian Spellen and Kenrick Sven Lorrimer will be the first Taekwondo athletes to represent Guyana since the launch of the Taekwondo championships under coach Bernard Spellen.

The athletes were offered the opportunity to attend the championships by the GTA.

They were considered on the basis of their outstanding record from past competitions.

Lorrimer departed for Caguas yesterday while Adrian and Bernard Spellen will depart today.

The athletes along with the coach have indicated to the GTA that they are quite confident of bringing home medals for Guyana on their inaugural attempt at this championship.
