The National Park Circuit is the venue again for yet another race meet. This time riders will vie for the Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire and Life Insurance Company trophies and defending champion Alonso Greaves will be hard pressed to defend his 2007 title.

According to organiser Hassan Mohammed, this is the sixth annual event sponsored by the company and the first race will ride off at  9am.

Mohammed said that some 76 laps of racing will take place in the seven events which will be contested in several categories.

The 12-14 year-old boys’ and BMX boys’ Open will compete over three laps while the veterans under and over 50–years-of-age and the uprights will compete over a distance of five laps in each category.
The juveniles will compete over 10 laps while the feature event for schoolboys and novices will be over 35 laps.

In the feature event defending champion Greaves will be looking to make it two out of two and also beat his time of 1:25:32.52s which he set last year.

Christopher Holder will defend the juvenile title after winning last year’s event in a time of 25:55.14s.

Apart from trophies and cash incentives, Hand-in-Hand will be giving away three BMX bicycles and helmets to three riders.
