Narayan and Priyanna Ramdhani proved their mettle Wednesday night sweeping the under-11 and under-13 junior titles as the Sterling Products Ltd., sponsored junior badminton tournament climaxed at the Queen’s College auditorium.

In the under-11 boys’ final, 10-year-old Narayan dispatched Jordan Isaacs in commanding fashion winning 21-3, 21-3.
In the third place play-off Shane Shewjattan defeated Zachary White 21-6, 21-10.

Narayan returned later in the evening to cop the under-13 title mauling Amandeep Alvis 21-3 and 21-5 while Andrew Peroune had a tough third-place match before getting the better of Stanley Ming 21-15, 21-15.

In the girls’ final Narayan’s sister, six-year-old Priyanna turned back the challenge of her opponents to capture both the under-11 and under-13 titles to give the brother and sister duo a clean sweep of the tournament.

In the under-11 final Lydia Alphonso, after putting up a staunch resistance in the first set before going down 17-21, folded in the second and succumbed 7-21.

In the third-place play-off Emma Vieira defeated Maya Parsram 21-15, 21-17.
In the under-13 clash Priyanna made light work of Mariah Low winning 21-11, 21-8.
In the third-place play-off Arianne Chand defeated Sarfina Baksh 21-12, 21-9.
