GCA cricket continues this weekend

Action in the various cricket tournaments being run under the auspices of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) will continue over the weekend, with the hallmark match-up being the Beharry Champions Products 40-overs-a side final featuring Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and Transport Sports Club (TSC) at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground from 10:30hrs.

TSC defeated Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) in their semi-final clash while  DCC got the better of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport (MCYS) in their encounter to set up this clash and both teams would be looking to lift the trophy along with the first prize of $75,000.

The runners-up will pocket $50,000 and a trophy, while the Man-of- the-Match will receive $10,000 and a trophy, while individual performers will also receive awards for their performances during the preliminary rounds of the competition.

Other GCA action for the weekend will take place in the Pepsi Cup, De Sinco Under-19 and the Hand-in- Hand second division 50-overs competition respectively.
In the Pepsi Cup first division 40-overs competition which will be played tomorrow, Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) will oppose MSC at MSC, while Everest and Police will square off at Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary.

In the De Sinco Cup under-19 competition, St. Winifred Secondary and School of the Nations will clash at Ghandi Youth Organization (GYO), while GNIC and MSC will face each other at GNIC.

In the Hand-in-Hand second division 50-overs competition, Ace Warriors and Everest Cricket Club will clash at Everest, DCC and Police will meet at Police, TSC and Diplomats will go against each other at DCC while GCC and the Guyana Defence Force will battle each other at GCC.

Hand-in-Hand action will continue tomorrow with GNIC and GYO meeting at DCC, while MCYS and Third Class will meet at MSC.
