The body of former Courts Pacesetters basketball player Kevin Worrell will be laid to rest today at  Le Repentir cemetery, following a  service at the West Ruimveldt Wesleyan Church.

His body will first be at the Merriman’s Funeral Home on Norton Street for viewing from 11.00hrs, before moving to the Burnham Court where it will remain until 13.30hrs (1:30pm)for further viewing.

The cortege will then move to the West Ruimveldt Wesleyan Church for the  church service from 1400hrs (2:00 pm), thence to  Le Repentir cemetery for burial.

Worrell reached his demise Sunday last at the Burnham Basketball court playing for his club in the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) open knock-out one day tournament.

He collapsed during the game and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The post-mortem which was performed on Wednesday at the GPHC, returned with an inconclusive result.

Courts (Guyana) Limited, the official sponsor of the club Worrell represented and the GABA have pledged to help offset the expenses for the funeral.
