Sunburst Camptown subdues Uprising 3-1

- Fruta Conquerors and Santos play to 3-3 draw

Sunburst Camptown, spearheaded by a double from Marvin Joseph defeated Uprising 3-1 on Friday in the latest round of matches of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Cellink Plus Premier League competition at the Tucville Playfield.

Joseph scored his goals in the 25th and 63rd minutes while Dexter Molleyneaux added the third goal in the 66th minute.
Uprising’s Omali Nassy scored a 70th minute consolation goal for his team.
In the feature match of the evening which started around 8pm, Fruta Conquerors and Santos played to a 3-3 draw.

Lester Peters opened the scoring for Fruta Conquerors in the 23rd minute but Jermaine Fraser equalised for Santos 16 minute later.

Fruta Conquerors again went ahead in the 44th minute through a goal from Sheldon Shepherd but Adrian Adams’s 60th minute strike once again put the teams back on level footing.
It seemed that Fruta Conquerors would take the points when Manasseh Primo found the back of the net in the 77th minute.

But once again Santos came from behind to draw level and share the points when Michael Oie scored the final goal of the game in the 82nd minute.

The competition continued last evening with Pele opposing the Georgetown Football Club from 6pm while Alpha United and the Guyana Defence Force were due to battle two hours later.
