Three players lead going into final day’s play

Three players are on five points out of a possible six at the end of the penultimate day’s play of the national Open chess qualifiers at the Hotel Tower.

Ronuel Greenidge, who defeated Loris Nathoo in yesterday’s final round, joins Nathoo  and David Khan in the lead.

They are followed by Frankie Farley and Errol Tiwari on  four and one half points while four players Shiv Nandalall, Omar Sharief,  Learie Webster and Irshad Mohammed are on four points.
Hemraj Sanichar  occupies the 10th position with three-and-one-half points.

In the junior category Taffim Khan leads with the maximum six points. He is followed by Cecil Cox and Rashad Hussain with  five points.

Kana Khan and Khalid Gajraj follow with four points while Saeed and Sherifa Ali are on three and one half points and Devendra Singh on three points.
