Another day, another thrashing

It was another disappointing day for Guyana’s Under-21 hockey team which is competing at the Junior Pan American hockey championships in Trinidad and Tobago after they were thrashed 19-0 by Chile in their match against the Spanish-speaking country Monday night.

According to reports out of Trinidad, the Guyanese played much worse than in their previous two games and it was not surprising that they lost by a much wider margin.

They have so far conceded a total of 47 goals while not managing to score any.
The team was down to play against Brazil yesterday.

So far, Jamaica and Guyana are the only two countries not to have recorded a win nor score a goal in the 12-team tournament while Chile, Agrentina and Canada are the only undefeated countries. (Rawle Toney)
