Fast bowlers Travis Perry and Colin Duke continued their impressive bowling performance in the West Berbice Cricket Association (WBCA)/Regency Suites/Buddy’s International Hotel sponsored under-23 limited overs competition last weekend.

Bowling for Achievers Sports Club (ASC) against Bush Lot Complex, Perry (5-23) and Duke (4-20) routed their opponents for a paltry 54 from 21 overs as only Christopher Bissoon with 19 reached double figures.
ASC in reply cantered to 60 without loss with Asif Khan (21) and Rafael Estriado (14) being the not-out batsmen.

In other matches played, Number Two defeated Sundown by 40 runs by 107 runs in their encounter which was played at the Number Two ground, thanks to the bowling efforts of Pooran Persaud (6-4) and Harish Sooknanan (2-15), who routed Sundown for 67 in reply to their team’s total of 174, of which Totaram Heera made 47 and Persaud 37.

At D’Edward ground, D’Edward ‘A’ defeated their ‘B’ team counterparts by 125 runs in their fixture. The ‘A’ team batted first and were bowled out for 212 from 27 overs, with Lakeraj Sookra (49) and Devendra Bridgelall (46) being the principal scorers.

Totaram Singh took 3-53 for the ‘B’ team who were bowled out for 87 in reply as only Devendra Lalsa who made 22 showed  any signs of resistance to the bowling of Navindra Rampersaud who took 5-49 and Tony Ramnanan 2-20.

In the final fixture of the round which was played at the Seafield ground, Keno Gravesande (79), Sherwin McPherson (47) and Odel Burnette (43) led Rainbow to 298 before they were bowled out. Daren Downer (34) and Jermaine Skeete (32) also chipped in with the bat, as Lionel Chetram took 3-41 for Bath.

When they took to the wicket to commence their reply, Bath found the bowling of Tyson Carmichael who took 4-38 too hot to handle and folded for 130, suffering a 168 runs defeat. No scores of the batsmen in Bath’s innings were available.
