The Rose Hall Town Bakewell “B” second division team created a major upset when they crushed Sand Reef Cricket Club by eight wickets in their Berbice Cricket Board of Control (BCBC)/ New Building Society sponsored second division limited overs competition recently.  Playing at the Chesney ground in a match which was reduced to a 25 overs affair due to heavy overnight rain, the RHT “B” asked Sand Reef to take first strike and bowled them out for 67. Only Rohan Budhran with 20 and Vishal Ramnauth 15, offered any resistance to the spin attack of 15-year-old off spinner Mark Fernandes (4-14) and 14-year-old Lloyden Lewis  who had the remarkable figure of 3-0 from three overs.

Thirteen-year-old leg-spinner Shawn Pereira had 3-3 from four overs for RHT Bakewell ‘B’ who reached 70-2 from 11.3 overs in reply. Opener Simon Lawson  topscored with 30  while  national under-15 opening batsman Dominic Ricky and skipper Terrence Madramootoo were both unbeaten on 15  when victory was achieved.
