National Swimming c/ships start today

The Guyana Amateur Swimming Association’s  (GASA) National Swim-ming Championships will commence this afternoon at the Castellani Pool, Homestretch Avenue.

Today’s activities will commence at 3.30pm with the contestants involved in warm up exercises before the event gets underway with the 200m freestyle event.

That event will be followed by the 50m backstroke event with the 1500m freestyle event being the final one of the day.

The championships will continue tomorrow and Saturday and end on Sunday.

All citizens, born or naturalised are eligible to compete while Non-Nationals may compete as guests  once approval is given by the GASA.
