Shabazz too calls it quits

Technical Director of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Jamaal Shabazz has finally called it quits.
According to a source close to the Trinidadian, Shabazz had told the GFF that if Guyana’s Golden Jaguars had qualified for the finals of the Digicel Caribbean Championships (DCC) he would resign on December 31 but if Guyana did not make it, his term of office would end in November.
Guyana failed to live up to the expectations of making it to Jamaica for the finals which starts on December 3 and Shabazz will leave officially on November 30, 2008.

Contacted yesterday for a comment president of the GFF, Colin Klass, said that the issue was a bit complicated and would be looked into.
Shabazz first took charge of the national team in 2005 and immediately made a positive impact.
Under his stewardship the national team played for two years without being defeated and earned their highest FIFA world ranking of 90.
The team was also rated number two in the Caribbean.

But since then things have not been so golden for the Jaguars.
The team failed to get past Suriname in the second round of the FIFA 2010 World Cup qualifiers losing both the home and away matches.
