Boxing gyms throughout Guyana will converge at the National Gymnasium this evening for opening night action of the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) organized Champion of Champions tournament which is sponsored by Church’s Chicken, Middle and Camp Streets.

Numerous boxing gyms have been invited to participate in the three-day event which ends on Sunday. The gyms expected to participate are Republican Boxing Gym, Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Harpy Eagles, Forgotten Youth Foundation, Essequibo, Ricola, Young Achievers, Sophia, Buxton, Mocha, Bagotsville, Police, City Constabulary, Young Lion, Bauxite Bombers, New Opportunity Corps, Leguan, Pocket Rocket, East Ruimveldt, Parika, Timehri, Melanie Damishana and Port Kaituma.

Weigh-in for the tournament will be done today at  7:00am while the competition will commence each night at 6pm.

President of the GABA, Affeeze Khan, told Stabroek Sport that his organization was planning to hold elections and an end of year award ceremony some time next month.
