This disclosure was made on Saturday at a press conference held at the head office of the Kashif and Shanghai Organization.
According to LEAP’s Business Development Officer Neil Fraser, his organization will be matching last year’s contribution but an exact figure was not disclosed. Fraser said that LEAP has always had a close working relationship with the Kashif and Shanghai Organization in the past and as such, it was easy for them to be a  part of the 19th edition of the tournament. Co-director of the organization Kashif Muhammad, was high in praise for LEAP and expressed the organisation’s “extreme gratitude”  and his “profound gratitude.” Fraser also mentioned some of the projects which LEAP will embark upon with the  Kasif and Shanghai Organization one of which  is to assist in  the rehabilitation of the Mackenzie Sports Club ground.

LEAP is a Government of Guyana and European Union programme with the objective of fostering entrepreneurship and enterprise for economic development of the town of Linden.

It was launched in 2002 with a planned injection of Euro pounds 12 million for the execution of the project over a seven-year period.
