The Ministry of Sports and Banks DIH sponsored Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) 2008 league will resume on Friday at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground (MSC) in Linden.

The competition was put on hold after the management of the MSC ground closed the facility to upgrade the facility for the National Schools Championships which concluded last week. But the organisers were unsure whether they would have been given permission to continue the competition however, after some amount of negotiations with the ground’s management committee, the competition has been given the go ahead.

On Friday, Silver Shattas, whose captain and coach Troy Richards was electrocuted last month, are set to face Amelia’s Ward United in the first game of the double header from 6:00 pm while Milerock will tackle Eagles United in the feature game.

The tournament will continue on November 30 and December 3 and will conclude on December 7.
