An unbeaten 54 from Delon Wayne along with a solid all-round performance from Kenje Sedoc, helped Hopetown Cricket Club (HCC) advance to the semifinal of the Berbice Cricket Board of Control (BCBC)/New Building Society (NBS) sponsored second division competition on Saturday.

Hopetown defeated Courtland by three wickets to advance to the final four of the largest second division competition in Guyana at the Fyrish Community Centre ground.

Courtland won the toss and batted, scoring 164 all out off 36 overs.

Dwayne Crandon top scored with 41 whilst M. Cummins made 35, the two adding 50 runs for the sixth wicket.

Sedoc, 4-15 and Kelwin Bennrtt, 3-20 were the main wicket takers.

HCC, in reply, reached 168-7 thanks to Wayne who struck seven fours and two sixes in his unbeaten innings.

Sedoc returned with the bat to hit three sixes and one four in his 29 while Ruel Edwards also scored 29.

Troy Matheson, 3-18 and Cummings, 2-28 were the wicket-takers
