Bacchus’ hat-trick shrivels Flamingo

Guyana Defence Force’s (GDF) Auwar Bacchus recorded a stunning hat-trick against the Flamingo Football Club as the inaugural Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Milo Under-21 tournament got underway on Saturday with four thrilling matches at the Tucville and Camptown grounds

The GDF stated clearly their intentions with a relentless 5 – 0 whipping of Flamingo while Sunburst Camptown coasted to a 3 – 1 win against Beacon United. Both matches were played at the Camptown ground.

And, over at the Tucville Playfield ground, Fruta Conquerors conquered Alpha United 2-0 while Santos crushed the Georgetown Football Club 4 – 0.

Bacchus recorded the only goal of the first half goal in the 37th minute and, after the 15 minute break, he recorded two more goals in the 56th and 67th minutes to complete his hat-trick while his teammate Celvon Narain supported with a double, recorded in the 63rd and 77th minutes.

And home team Camptown wiped out Beacon compliments of a Richie Richards double in the 18th and 24th minutes. Keifer Small added to his team’s tally in the 33rd minute while Jamal Blackman accounted for Beacon’s only goal in the 30th minute.

Over at the Tucville Playfield ground, junior national striker Mannessah Primo slammed a double past Alpha United in the 43rd and 60 minutes after a goalless first half.

Santos’ Dellon John in the 31st and 76th minutes, Abzal Gafoor on the stroke of half time and Laurex Fraser in the 78th minute were the demolition moments for GFC in their first round encounter of the tournament.
