Rangers and Wolf Warriors blaze into final

West Coast’s two top teams Rangers Sports Club (RSC) and Wolf Warriors (WW) made their way into the semi-finals of the Guyana Softball League (GSL) organized Memorex Enterprise Countrywide 15-overs-a-side softball tournament with victories over United Brothers Sports Club and Die Hard Sports Club respectively.

In the first match, UBSC won the toss, batted and were dismissed for 85 in 12 overs.

Raymond Beaton made 24 and Chabilall Etwaru 29 the two adding 39 runs for the third wicket.

Jagmohan Singh bagged 5-13.

RSC then stormed to 89-2 in just 9.3 overs.

Zaheer Hanif and Diaram Persaud   scored 34 and 30 runs respectively, the two featuring in a 70-run unbeaten third-wicket partnership.

In the second-quarter final DHSC batted first and were restricted to 101 in 14.3 overs.

Jitendra Imrit top-scored with 35 while Ishwar Singh made 34.

Ramesh Rambharose and Cristiandial Persaud bagged 2-16 and 2-13 respectively for WW who, in reply, scored 102 without loss in seven overs as Azad Azeez cracked up an unbeaten 43 from 18 balls while  Balbinder Persaud made 39.
