BK International Western Tigers executive rewarded its players for their hard work this year with cash and other prizes but the most motivational tool yet may be the offer of the $1M prize money it said will go directly to the players should they win the K&S tourney.

Each player was given $10,000 and special prizes were awarded to some players, singled out by the executives, for their exceptional performance, at a simple ceremony hosted at the Cool Square Inn on Tuesday. Goal-scoring machine Devon Millington led the awardees when he received the Most Goal Scorer Award. Team Captain Dillon Fraser was recognised as the Most Valuable Player; Travis Best, Most Committed Player; Phillip Rowley, Most Discipline Player and Sherman David, Best Defender.  In his address to the team, Club president Gordon Gilhuys praised the executives for rewarding the players for their hard work and dedication. The club played undefeated in this year’s First Division League and will be moving back to the premiership after coming out on top. Additionally, they finished third in the Sweet 16 tournament and were runners-up in the NAMILCO tournament after loosing to Alpha United in the finals. Western Tigers were relegated to the Georgetown Football Association’s First Division League after finishing last in the 2007 GFA/ GT&T Premier League. The team is set to play Blue Berry Hill United at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground in Linden tomorrow in the K&S tournament. To further motivate them, the executives said the players will be given the entire $1M prize money should they win the tournament. The West Ruimveldt based team has never won the tournament. Their best showing was in 2001 when they lost to the Fruta Conquerors.
