Vendors selling along the roadsides and on government reserves at the Mon Repos/La Reconnaissance Market were advised to move to the area north of the market as plying their trade at the said locations was impeding the flow of traffic. 

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release, Minister of Transport and Hydraulics Robeson Benn who visited the area on Saturday said the vendors must occupy the area prepared for them. He said too action would be taken against those who flout the law. The minister also advised poultry and other meat vendors that the animals should not be killed at the location.
In response to vendors’ complaints about the size of the plots Benn said one person can occupy two plots. He also said that the area is a short-term place to accommodate vendors who do not sell in the market.

Meanwhile, the minister inspected the maintenance works carried out on several roads including the Lusignan main access road which has been completed. He also examined the $5.5M Clonbrook Cross Street and Sixth Street Clonbrook, Section C which was built at a cost of $4M. Benn also examined roads at the North Greenfield Housing Scheme which were constructed at a cost of $15M.
