I am forever grateful for the day the US got their hands on Roger Khan. Now mouth open story guh jump out. My bet is that this whole saga will continue to implicate the Guyana Government. Their denials are not surprising, just pitiful because what we are hearing about now is just confirmation of what we always knew.

Roger Khan has shown what is the order of the day in Guyanese politics. Guyana is no longer a country of prominance. When she get a changing of the old guard? meaning no PNC or PPP steering the ship. Guyana Needs a change for the better and i do not see it being done on the above parties time in office.....Change for the better.....It is about time....it is need now.....

I think this is what they should do. The society has become too lawless and the country needs a reality check. The Govt will then realize what they have done....

I believe the PNC and PPP has pass their shelf live in Guyanese Politics. Their Ideologies will not transform Guyana. The Country needs needs a change from the traditional set which are above. The country needs real leaders and those parties do not have them. They are both using the teachings of the old regime and they cannot see that there are many flaws in their ability to change the MORAL of all Guyanese....Guyana being pulled into the preverbal black hole and no one has any idea how to reverse the process.

owenon123,
Most of what you said I agree with. No, I don't expect the Surinamese to send RK thru Nickerie, but they have the means to facilitate RK 's assured return to Guyana thru Nickerie just like the do everyone else they send back to Guyana including RK's body guards. It was a plan agreed to by the Surinamese and US agents to arrest him in Trinidad if the Surinamese were to send him to Guyana via POS. I have no doubt in my mind RK is gonna go to jail, the US will have enough to put him away, but not for the killings in Guyana, that's why I said in a previous post, his going to jail was no consolation to the victims.

Mackydog, i don't believe "kidnap" is the correct word usage. The only way the US could 'effectively' arraign RK was to get him into a jurisdiction where their extradition is extant. There was none between Suriname and the US which is why the 'deportation' arrangement came into place, where he could be arrested in a jurisdiction where the extradition could be enforced - T&T afforded the opportunity. So i believe the US covered itself adequately....

If the Government was "using Khan to do some dirty work," what was the reward for Khan? Free passage (nothing to declare line) through CANU? I wonder if that is why the CANU people are being gotten rid of now in such a hurry? So when Kan calls names the Govt will say 'see they were corrupt a long time ago'
A smart but transparent move, Jagdeo. We reading you. nothing you-all do can clean your dirty-work hands, I hope the US come for all of them.

The US government 's case against Khan has strong evidence for conviction, the crown's strategy is to present his case and leave the defence team with the most impossible task of convincing the jury to reach a not guilty verdict. The US narco yearly reports would state Guyana's position on the fight against this trade . If our government and law enforcement team had taken action after reading the reports, this administration would not have had lost the public trust. The US government is talking about the death of Allison and Persaud this is two from the alledged 200 murders ,how many were lawenforcement officers in guyana and also US DEA officers being DEA you will be considered a US service personnel. This would be a serious crime.

Mackydog:

I like your tone of voice now.

Re: “That judge will have to be crazy to allow that evidence to be heard in court ESPECIALLY when Roger Khan WAS kidnapped and illegally brought to the US.”

Persuasion is achieved by respecting your audience, and one-way is to give others the benefit of the doubt, unless you have clear evidence to the contrary.

Mackydog, do RK and his legal team have that evidence that he was kidnapped and illegally brought to the US. You said, “Roger Khan was deported to Guyana and intransited to Trinidad for a flight to Guyana with no official Guyanese identification except Surinamese jail documents saying he was RK.” However, your assumption is, “He should’ve been brought back thru Nickerie,” etc.

Nevertheless, RK, at the time of deportation back to Guyana. He was a wanted alleged high profile drugs Baron which the USA has requested internationally for his arrest. In addition, the US has picture of him and his capture by the Surinamese was on television news as well as in the media. In your right mind, do you really think the Surinamese authorities would’ve deported him thru Nickerie?

RK, was nabbed by the US authorities intransiting thru Trinidad for a flight to Guyana. The government of Trinidad has an extradition treaty with the US government.

Roger Khan is not facing any murder charge here in the USA. The US is establishing evidence to make their case Persuasive to the Judge and further on to the Jury in the trial. As follow: “Further, strongly arguing that the uncharged conduct was admissible and not unfairly prejudicial, the US government said that the uncharged criminal activity that it was seeking to have admitted in its motion in limine was admissible as direct evidence of the crimes charged in the indictment because the acts “arose out of the same transaction or series of transactions as the charged offense[s], … [are] inextricably intertwined with the evidence regarding the charged offense[s], [and are] necessary to complete the story of the crime [on] trial.”
Pertaining to the name “shortman” those witnesses when asked by the defense, other than the defendant's name Roger Khan, what other alias you (the witness) know him by and the witness or witnesses is going to say “shortman” end of story.

AND the Roger Khan saga continues. I think by now the GOG was involved in this whole mess at some point in time, be it assisting Khan to acquire his surveillance equipment or higher.

I hope a lot more unravels by the time he is prosecuted. Khan knows he's looking at a lot of jail time and it is obvious he is not prepared to go down alone.

It is unfortunate that we have to wait on Uncle Sam to clean up our mess.

To be involved in crimes of such nature (drug smuggling et al on such a high level) One must have a broad network. HINT HINT!

Thanks guys it has been a healthy exchange of views on the RK situation. In my comments I base them on the law we have here on other items which would prejudice the crown's case against the accused. They normally get to the high court and get their sentence squashed through unproven allegations. But in short in would be more creditable if Guyana had laid charges against RK
BUT I HATE TO SAY THIS BUT I ASSUME THAT US HAS COMPELLING EVIDENCE which is why the Guyana government has made little or no comment because they know as soon as they open their mouth there is a good chance uncle Sam will say no no we will release the truth about senior members of the Guyana government. I do remember that certain Guyanese officials have been told that they are not welcome in the US. How embarrassing is that also if we select a jury from our forum Mr RK would be sentenced indefinitely.
