A 40-year-old minibus driver and his family were yesterday robbed of cash and jewellery at their Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo home by bandits carrying handguns.
At about 1 am yesterday bandits broke into the home of Kevin Seebarran and took off with jewellery, documents, an undisclosed sum of cash and a cellular phone. According to a police press release, Seebarran, his wife and his parents who are visiting from overseas, were all asleep when the bandits broke into the house, gaining entry via a louvre window. The men held them at gunpoint while they gathered the items and then made good their escape. Both Seebarran and his father were struck about their bodies by the bandits during the incident.
Police are continuing their investigations into the matter.

Rohee….where is the “rapid response squad”?
The usual empty promises rolls of his lips!
agree , with the above comments ,they was in the jungle hunting down fine man
All I have to say is that another sad display of not being able to defend your own home in Guyana.
Our Firearm Policy will make life much better for the people living in Guyana. A bandit would not enter into any home if they knew that the occupants and neighbors were armed also.
When Firearms are against the law, only the outlaws have firearms.

Sorry for the visitors, this is the reason that some visitors are not returning to visit their families.
I always use d my vacation time visiting Guyana, now, I’m afraid to return, can’t even go visit my dad’s grave.
What is happening in Guyana, a once carefree Country.
Something has to be done quickly, how long would this go on.
Tired reading these attacks, what is the Government doing.?
Guyanese needs street lights, bring back the cat o 9 tails, this is the only method to stop these senseless attacks and killings.
I’m very ashamed concerning these attacks and killings, where else can anyone hide, not even in their won home.
The drug dealers took over, and the government became a dicatorship!!!
what investigations will be continued? that doesn’t even make sense coming from the GDF in guyana….i know what this incident feels like… i speak from experience. my concern goes out to the family of zeelugt….that was my home village and the same thing had happened. As usual, the last person to arrive on the scence, was the Police.
