The media houses in Guyana have lost their way. You are not only encouraging crimes against the State you are inciting hatred, racism and encouraging crimes against humanity.

This is exactly what the political interests of countries such as Rwanda did. So in Guyana we have years of overt calls of racism, calls to violence and excuses for race motivated violent atrocities against innocent citizens and children. We have child soldiers trained and killing and politicians who have been able to go visit the training grounds with impunity. We have middle class people accustomed to power and privilege using poor people and the name of race to fight for control of political power at all costs. Abd we have a media that is aiding rather than responsibly questioning what is happening here.

The question seems to be whether all of you with political ambitions will work hard to be respectable leaders and media professionals, will foster genuine multi-ethnic dialogue and governance, or will one day – after you have got your dream of destruction – find yourselves in front of a tribunal anwering for the crimes aganst humanity you have been instigating.
