A man who was recently released on bail returned to court on Tuesday to face charges of robbery under arms and was remanded by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.

It is alleged that on May 27 Randy Morris while being armed with a gun robbed Chandrawattie Sahadeo of $20,000 cash, one shoulder bag and one cellular phone, a total value of $73,000.

It is also alleged that Morris robbed Sachin Narine Sahadeo on the said day of $4 million, one cell phone, a .32 Taurus pistol, 6 live rounds .32 ammunition, one gold chain and one gold band, a total value of $4,878,400.

Morris was granted bail in the High Court on May 20 after being placed on remand in the Magistrate’s Court for gun-related charges.

He was then rearrested and the above-mentioned charges were instituted against him.

His lawyer Adrian Thompson told the court that it is highly unlikely that his client would have $4 million in his possession and “stick around at home to be arrested again.”

Police prosecutor Deneashwar Nauth said that Morris was positively identified in an identification parade. He asked that bail be refused since the accused was previously admitted to bail and then rearrested for a similar offence.

Morris broke down in tears and told the magistrate that he did not commit any of the offences and the police were setting him up.

He was remanded and has to return to court on July 11.
