Extension works are set to begin shortly at nursery and primary schools in Moraikobai in order to accommodate the growing population of school-age children in the Region Five community.

Regional Executive Officer Floyd France said the renovations and furnishings will be completed before the start of the new school term in order to allow more students to be enrolled. He said that education and health are two areas that have vastly improved in the community and he is pleased that Moraikobai has recorded this significant achievement.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release Moraikobai is the lone Amerindian community in the region and one of the more developed countrywide. Residents benefit from education, health care, electricity, potable water and telephone services. It was also noted that the school uniform and feeding programmes have contributed greatly to the improvement of the children’s attendance at school.
