Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle yesterday granted $35,000 bail to a GDF private accused of indecently assaulting a police sergeant and resisting arrest after he rode his bicycle into the path of a moving car.
Private Troy Glen 19, of 180 West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, pleaded guilty to the charge of using indecent language, and not guilty to the charges of resisting arrest, unlawful assault, and riding his bicycle in a dangerous manner when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
It is alleged that on July 16 on Vlissengen Road, Glen rode his cycle and overlooked all safety precautions causing him to end up in the path of a moving car, which was driven by a Police Sergeant. According to reports, when the sergeant confronted him Glen indecently assaulted the officer and resisted arrest.
Glen was ordered to appear at court on September 22.

in a civic society, the police is the law enforcement officer.
What should have happen .the police involved should have called for another officer to “ticket the infraction”,but thats guyana for you.
Joint services again, this time against each other, seem as though the army boys dont regard the police boys anymore.
discipline lacking. where are the commanding officers
Is a 19 year old kid with probably less than 2 years army service, a fair representitive of the entire army?

the soldier should have beaten the police sargeant good. If there was any breaking of the law, the sargeant had a right to call another police to investigate. Maybe the police was the one driving badly and felt a sense of entitlement . he probably wanted the bike to stop for him. Thats how the play police behave in Guyana. hell with them.
