Go-Invest said it successfully organised the participation of 12 Guyanese companies in the Guyana Trade and Investment Exposition held during the 42nd Annual Guyana Independence Festival in Canada.
According to a press release the Consulate General for Guyana and the Independence Committee which comprises over 50 organisations in the Diaspora organised the Exposition. Go-Invest said a review of the results found four companies sold all the goods they displayed and three are following up with potential distributors. All the companies said they were confident that they would increase their market share in Toronto. The Exposition was hosted from June 20-22 at the L’Amoreaux Community Centre.
The companies were from the following sectors: processed foods, leather craft, tourism, basketry, garments, costume jewellery, wood products and cooking utensils. They are the Edward B Beharry and Company Ltd, Atlantic Leather, Cortours Inc, Food King, NCS Bamboo and Wood Craft Products, Souvenir Art and Craft, Two Star Boutique, Weslyn’s Trading, Tradewind Marine Ltd, Ricks and Sari Agro Processing Ltd and RT Imports and Exports.

Non organic food is the problem of the g8 countries.in order to make food cheap and readily available, they were bio engineered.now it is suggested that health problems and other ,were caused by bio enginneering.
this is the crack in the door that guyana needs to supply organic food to theses countries. With crop rotation, small farmers, with a culture of pick up trucks.Maybe we should assemble them.
Guyana will cross one more loop in the hoop.
Congratulations to these companies. They have managed to display their products, but in order to penetrate the markets in TO they have to be very competitive. I have seen the prices for some Guyanese products in TO and they are not very “catchy” as to make you want to return for another purchase or recommend that product to another would be buyer. My point is… these companies have to choose their distributers carefully, emphasis on presentation and follow-up must be top priority to ensure that distributers will be able to penetrate markets and provide a top class service. Guyanese have the potential to ride the wave but very few have the potential to get out of troughs. Take a page out of DDL’s book.
