This is great news coming from Guyana. The PMTCT programme has also been showing reasonable success in a few Caribbean islands as well, this is a positive for the CHART(Caribbean HIV/AIDS Research and Training) programme, however greater emphasis should be placed on those young women who are HIV + and are having repeated pregnancies, in some cases for a new partner who is at extreme risk of becoming infected.
