Office of the President employee, Albert Henry, whose partially decomposed body was discovered in his Diamond, East Bank Demerara home on Tuesday afternoon, died of a heart attack.
According to a police press release, a post-mortem examination (PME) performed on the man yesterday by pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh determined the cause of death to be a heart attack. The release further stated that the man’s licensed .32 firearm and ammunition were recovered from his home.
One of Henry’s relatives told this newspaper that although the PME results have determined that the man died of natural causes the family is allowing the police to continue with their investigations.
Relatives, however, declined to comment further on the matter stating that they would be better able to speak after the police have had some time to continue their investigations.
The partly decomposed body of the 54-year-old man, a police press release had said, was discovered at about 3.45 pm after residents in the area were alerted to a smell emanating from the man’s home.
Prior to this discovery, Henry was missing from work and his relatives have reported that his car was found at a different location last Thursday. Henry had been involved in several elections and had participated in training up to the 2006 polls.

My condolences to his family. Curious to what he was doing prior to the heart attack.
it is with deep sadness that i mourn the death of my friend and colleague…he was a gentleman who always remembered from whence he came, was always ready to help whenever he could, loved his god and his people and served his country well….farewell my friend….as it has always been said, ‘the good die young!’
Wow, I know this guy from Ministry of Finance. He was always smiling. Sad news.
