A man who was going to deposit money from his store’s sales into the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry location at Vreed-en-Hoop was last evening robbed by gun-toting bandits who escaped.

The man, who operates a store at the Abbisham Mall at Vreed-en-Hoop, was on the bridge that led to the bank when he was accosted by the men, both of whom were armed with handguns. The incident occurred at just about 7 pm.

The bandits grabbed the money from him, hitting him on the mouth, in the process.  The sum of money taken was not known. After grabbing the money, the men fled and it is believed that they escaped in a car.
Police are investigating the matter.

I myself had applied for one sometime back in 1994 -1995, and all I got was a letter acknowledging receipt of my application. I am confident that I am still being processed though.
