In my opinion, I think that the Cancer Study carried out by the Cancer Registry was necessary. And, it has only created awareness in Guyana. If studies like these are not done, how would our society progress?

Yes, I agree that the study done by the Cancer Registry is a very useful study, but I also agree that there lies a weakness in the methodology employed when conducting this study, and therefore the findings cannot be definite. More needs to be done to suggest the correlation supports the hypothesis, if I may say so.

This could be a situation of comparative diets, are the African Guyanese eating more food with fat content, more beef and less fish. As Guyanese, there is cross culture in diet, and as a Afircan Guyanese, a little dhall and rice and some bagee was always a part of our diet.

Seem to me that within the last 20 years, more African Guyanese are doing the American thing and eating out more and loosing control of what they are putting into their system.

I think he is right,I always thought that finding was a load of zilch,I have never heard of anything like that before, what about heart disease ,hypertension and diabetes? is that going to be assessed by ethnicity too, people have to be careful when they start to do studies involving health,I don't think that they are qualified to make an assessment on something like that, they are getting a bit ahead of themselves, that sort of study is way out of their league.
