The Ministry of Education has said that parents who wish to have their children transferred to secondary schools other than the ones awarded to them following the National Grade Six Assessment Examination can have these transfers processed during August 20 to 25.

However, transfers will be subjected to the availability of places in the schools being requested, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported.

Moreover, the ministry stated that all students who have been offered places must be registered at the schools listed on the examination slip on or before August 18.

Earlier this year over 17,000 Grade Six students wrote the National Examination to gain places in secondary schools. Placement was done based on the marks scored and the area of residence of the students and was awarded as an aggregate of three assessments done in Grades Two, Four and Six, GINA concluded.
