Commander of `A’ Division Welton Trotz this afternoon said that two of the country’s most wanted men, Rondell `Fineman’ Rawlins and Jermaine `Skinny’ Charles were shot and killed by members of the joint services on the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.

Asked how the positive identifications were made, he said that they knew the men from their general appearance.

“We know them. They can’t hide”, he told this newspaper.

The men, who were reportedly part of a gang, were fatally wounded during a confrontation with the law enforcement ranks which began late Wednesday night, in a bushy area behind the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri. During that first confrontation, Shawn Grant, 31 of Eccles, East Bank Demerara was killed and a soldier was injured.

We need to see the bodies. We need to hear from people outside of the police force who can confirm that it is really them. Remember folks, this is the same police force that told us they had him “cornered” in the bush and they were “closing in” on the gang. The same JS which set up camp in Buxton only to have fineman and his gang sneak in and our right under their noses. Let’s wait and see what happens.

  4. Nastyman CANADA says:

Why praise the police? It was the GDF- army that killed Fineman and his cohorts.
Fineman was trying to attack the army barracks at Timehri to steal guns and was killed by the army.

Congratulations for a job well done. The dedication, hard work and efforts of the ruling Government and Joint Services must truly be recognized and appreciated by the Guyanese people home and abroad.
The butchery of innocent people especially children must not be condoned in any society.
I am sure that the termination of these cowards will bring some closure to the victims and their relatives whose lives are distraught.

    • Charriot UNITED STATES says:

This was not the work of the government, nor the joint services. It was the ARMY. It was the brave men stationed at Timehri Barracks who foiled an attempt to steal arms and amunition.

So before you start praising the PPP, get you facts right.
