President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday hailed the elimination of Rondell `Fineman’ Rawlins and other major players of his notorious gang.

In a statement yesterday via the Government Information Agency, Jagdeo recalled his government’s pledge to pursue Fineman and his cohorts at all costs, and was “extremely pleased that the special unit, comprising police and army officers set up to hunt this gang was successful”.

The president posited that this can bring closure to the gang’s criminal activities, the statement said.

Me too, I hail the JS on a good job done finally.
But wait… the job is not totally done as yet, Fineman had superiors he worked for, we need to find those and condemn them too. What if Fineman was the lead to capturing the army camp and then creating a coup? Fineman is not smart enough or educated enough to run a country, so who would he have seconded to do that??? Find that/those man/persons and condemn them.
    The job continues.

    • colt45 UNITED STATES says:

Mackydog, fineman superiors are not hard to find. You will hear some of them criticizing and questioning the JS actions soon, even some will be querying why fineman was not brought in alive.
But let us all join and congratulate the JS from averting the raid on the ammo dump and killing these who caused terror and mayhem.

Let me inform you that unless this govt put a end to racism ….marginalisation …criminalisation ….jailing of young men without any reasonable attempt to have their cases heard ,,,,,,,..and one race is superior over another …….. there will be more fineman(s)

    • gtbeat UNITED STATES says:

The usual generalisations with no proof provided.

    • La vie est bonne! CANADA says:

badlall… good points… Jagdeo should provide the DNA proof that the person they killed is ineed this fineman.

    • Twinkle Toe GUYANA says:

In one word TO BADLALL-’ NONSENSE’. You are living in the past and none of your comments is true. Try and get it right. for future reference.

    • Debbie CANADA says:

Such nonsense! How is the Government responsible for Racism? That comes from your Mothers and Fathers and other relatives that teach their kids that we are not all one in the eyes of GOD! What does the government of Guyana… a country that boast 6 peoples as part of their motto contribute to your biased and uninformed conclusion. The “fineman” of Guyana are born of laziness and greed, with wanton destruction on their agendas. Try education to curb this type of upbringing and see the difference in their future.

    The Presee speaking?
    What”s going on?
    Check this out:
“The president posited that this can bring closure to the gang’s criminal activities, the statement said”.

    Not the word “can”.

Capturing them alive should have been the motto, for then real information
could have been gleaned which then could lead to real closure of gang
    activities.

I hope the Presee is aware that the Phoenix can rise from the ashes.

    • john brown UNITED STATES says:

Only the pesident of guyana can say things like that.

    • Myfun1 UNITED STATES says:

Carl – You are dead on the money, dead men tell no secrets. Now we may never know who killed those innocent miners, does this mean that the investigaton into their murders is now closed?

Definitely Fineman is not the LEADER of this gang he may have been the General but certainly not the Commander in Chief, this is not the final chapter of this gang’s activities thsi could be bigger than our simple minds could perceive..

    • gtbeat UNITED STATES says:

I hope the Presee is aware that the Phoenix can rise from the ashes.

      You wish!!!

    • Twinkle Toe GUYANA says:

You cannot capture hardcore criminals with AK 47 in their hands alive, my friend. Think about that.

    • drumup_change UNITED STATES says:

……………………………people need to stop speculating and look at situation indept go deper……………..where and when all this got started………………..the money origin to support this exercise of crime…………………and lastly …………………… the players…………………..lets us see the out come of Roger Khan’s case……………..does his crime fighting establishment still exist Toe…………..old say, “there is more in the mata than the pessle”………………….somebody in high places know something……………….and we the people should demand more answers from the Government…………………Guyanese are more intelegent than that……………………

  4. Irreverend GUYANA says:

That’s good. But the conditions that breed criminals (blue & white collar) still exist and next 5 – 10 years we will have to deal with the nightmares that are today’s children but tomorrow’s monsters.

  5. Ankoko UNITED STATES says:

This blog provides such a unique opportunity to view the mindset of a pretty wide cross section of Guyanese people. The pundits will discuss and discuss this for time to come but so far the TRUTH continue to be elusive. That these ‘gangs had support and direction from someone of substance is about as certain that the sun will rise tomorrow.
History will show who were correct and vice versa, but I can’t help but have a laugh at the inferences in most of these articles and blogs on the deaths of these persons.
Three men to stage an attack upon an armoury???
That is a little too much for some of us.

  6. mackydog UNITED STATES says:

    colt45,
I’m with you bro, I, like you, am awaiting their comments. We won’t be surprised at what they have to say, if they have anything to say at all, except “ya’ll win, we give up”, but no, they won’t give up, they want power badly even if it comes by killing innocent harmless armless children. I do along with you again, join in congratulating the JS on this achievement. GOOD WORK JS. Find the others though.

  7. Simone UNITED STATES says:

I hope the peolple of Guyana and those family members of the men killed demand some form of DNA testing or positive identification. Why would we believe that it was Fineman indeed that was killed. If indeed it is Fineman that was killed I am not surprised. His bosses would never have allowed him to be brought in alive. Too much would have been revealed and a lof of men in power would have been stripped of their so called innocence and be exposed as the monsters that they really are. Where do you think these guys receive their ammunition, weapons, money and instructions from?

  8. Irreverend GUYANA says:

The Joint Services members who took part in the operation MUST be rewarded the $50,000,000. As they said, “We do we job.” REWARD THEM!

  9. fish UNITED STATES says:

I agree with you Myfun, but I think they would have tortured and killed these men in custody anyway.

  10. truegt UNITED KINGDOM says:

they will be at the funerals.think back a lil bit….
