A 43-year-old man was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital on Friday night after two men attacked and robbed him, after forcing their way into his home.
The man who only gave his nickname ‘Brother’ said he arrived at his Bare Root home at approximately 7.20 pm on Friday. “I don’t have electricity so I lef’ my door half open so I can see to light the lamp,” ‘Brother’ said. “Next thing I know a man push he head through the door,” Brother recounted, “I shout out ‘who is da?’ but before I coulda do anything else I get a lash in me head.”
The left side of his forehead was bandaged and he said that he was hit on his arms as well.
‘Brother’ said he started to fight but he couldn’t match the two men. The bandits carted off his money, cellular phone and other valuable items. Further, he said, they stole his brush cutter. “That it how I make my living,” a distressed ‘Brother’ told Stabroek News.
According to ‘Brother’, the police are yet to take a statement from him and two men are supposed to be taken into police custody for questioning.

So was it Brother’s fault this happened to him? Do you actually have a sympathetic bone in your body? Since when an invasion of a person’s home become normal or acceptable behaviour? Every citizen has the right to expect that the sanctity of his/her home is respected.
Poor “Brother” you have to praise the Almighty that you were not killed, some are killed for a pair of shoes, you would soon recuperate from your injuries, and be able to work.
You have LIFE you have HOPE…
Well, Brother u r one lucky dude. Thank the Almighty u r alive. Have u ever thought about having a flash light? And pleeese close your door behind u the next time.
HEY GUYS LAY OFF THE MAN.HE IS REALLY LUCKY TO BE ALIVE SINCE THEY KILLING PEOPLE FOR LESS.STAY UP BROTHER.
Let’s hope he heals quickly. He may need help to get back on his feet as they say. Is there a way of helping this guy? A brushcutter costs more than $100 000G. I am so worried when these things happen to people who have no way of picking up and move on.
