Very sad, wish this young lady fast recovery, to her parents, u have a very strong daughter, although bleeding, she found the strength to run for help.
If the laws were different in Guyana, all these wanton acts would have ceased ever since.

I’m tired of this, women cannot walk the streets without being attacked.?

Evil, I read this article and I am still trying to dissipate the anger that is boiling in me. I just hope that they are dealt with by the law, MAXIMUM penalty. Find them, try them, jail them. Let see how gangster they are when they meet with those harden criminals in jail.

Evil you did not say torture but you meant it and you would not say a word if that is used to extricate information.

May God give her strength to go on. The penalty for these crimes should be severe. Guyana has approximately 700.000 people. Lord help us if we had a million, or more. This is lawlessness to the highest degree. Something has to be done, and fast. We have to think about our women and children. Mr Government you have to act fast, things are getting out of hand.

It is long overdue time to stop talking and more action, this government makes me feel impotent. Time is now to act, people must take a stand, even if it is your relative. Time to wipe out the nastiness and shame that is going on in “GUYANA”. Ketch dem and kill dem. Forget about human rights, do they comment when criminals rape,kill,rob and destroy communities. Time for Government to be more firm and positve about corruption and illdeeds that is stagnating “GUYANA” development. Thank you.

Our youth can adopt the “thugs” and “gangster” image because they know that the law is “lenient”. They want to be thugs, treat them like thugs. I agree witht he previous bloggers, “beat them with many stripes” or hang them high and set an example. It got to stop somewhere!

So lucky!! that she could of shake off this with life, her wounds will soon heal but the truama will be for a long time. Her family love will help her to recover faster than expected, I guess…

Another attempt to sexually abuse one of our country’s future, I’ve made mention before that it seems this type of criminal behaviour is on the rise in Guyana and the need to re-examine the justice system’s`MO’ in sentencing rapists and would-be rapists. The sentences given to these perverts are too meagre.

Such a horrific crime perpetrated by teens once again. What is going on in the schools of Guyana, why aren’t these kids in school being taught skills if they’re not intered in book smarts? Where are all the Governmental Programes to assist these wayward children who wander the streets with weapons to rape, rob, injure and kill their fellow mankind?

I’m of the view that a lot of the seemingly senseless crimes being committed in Guyana today are done by persons under the influence of something. Whether it’s alcohol, marijuana, cocaine or SATAN – something drastic has to be done to curbe this situation which is getting out of hand. I don’t know what should be done and by whom but I’ll start with the Government and law inforcement since safety of the citizens rest with them. Then our clergy could have an input. I feel so sorry for that young lady. The perp must get the maximum under the law and then some which will send a message to others out there like him. Let him have a speedy trial.

I’ve read most of the bloggers above comments calling for action by the law enforcment and soon relised how confused I am. One time the law enforcment is lacking in the execution of their duties, another time they are using excessive force and now there is an out cry for justice with all sort of suggestions as to their punishment. I strongly condem the action of these two individuals and wish that their face the full extent of the law. As it relates to the young woman{victim} I express sympathy on behalf of all the bloggers,the readers,the editor and myself. ‘We are very sorry for the pain and suffering caused by these two criminals action and trust that you’ll recover speedily and safely’. Only who feels it knows it. Let the police do their job of ridding seocity of criminal gangs cartels.

These guys from Port Mourant should be threated just like the ones from Linden….plenty jail. No work to payback and compensate victim. Why for some people this is all that matters? Some people can commit a crime and pay compensation and others go to jail? Gansters? These guys are all aminals.

And it tells of the hopelessness of some of our young men in some rural communities. It cuts across racial and ethnic divide. Our young men are clueless of what is right and what is wrong, there are no role models for them. They see drug runners getting rich and becoming influencial in society, they see government workers stealing and getting rich and nothing happens to them, they see ministers of government being accused of gun play, assault of under aged girls and nothing happens, they see ministers of government and key party supporters doing wrong and they are given pats on the back. The obvious question they would ask themselves is; so why not me, this seems to be OK.

These animals are predators, and what you do to predators, I ask.This young woman is a university student who is working hard to do her parents, herself, her community and her country proud. In the prime in her life she made to suffer such a traumatizing ordeal at the hands of these savages,and you are taking about jail those suckers, thus wasting taxpayers money. I am not advocating voilence. What these savages did to this girl is voilence,and if we do not speak out against it would be condoning voilence.
